Saw this on a friend's facebook page and Nathan and I laughed so hard. It was definitely worthy of the blog, so I thought I'd pass it along. Enjoy :)

Imulse Buy

I just had to post about this because it was a hilarous situation and a great example of impulse buying :) The Samples a Costco are great--and we have never actually sampled anything that we immediatly put into the cart until Nathan got his hands on this bad boy...

Yes, thas right--Peanut Butter Snickers. He took one little bite of that suckers and mumbled something like "oh my gosh, we have to get these" followed by walking right back to the sample stand and picking up a bag. They are a little piece of heaven in your mouth--its true.

Thankful for my Husband

I know the title of this post made it sound like a serious post is coming, but all it really is is a video that I came across via a friend's facebook page and this video made me thankful for my dear husband Nathan--and thankful for his heart for music ministry :) This is funny--and while it may not be the "worst" worship ever, its pretty ridiculous.

"The Government Can"

Just saw this on my SIL's blog, and it was definitely worthy of putting up on mine. Very funny... and I love all the dance moves the guy does...that made me laugh more than the song, but both are still funny. Ok, i'm done posting for the day :)

All the Single Babies

Ok... this video is too funny to not share. I have make sure to say that I would not be encouraging my child to dance to Beyonce... much less be watching her music video while they dance... but this is funny. Enjoy...

Hicksville Rosamond

Today, the most exciting thing happened in Rosamond! There was a brush fire. Nathan and I decided after this incident that Rosamond is the biggest hick town. Yes indeed. We were finishing lunch with our Suppers for Six group when one of the ladies said "Look out the window." So we all did and noticed this black smoke. Naturally, Nathan and I wondered where it was, what it was (fire, business, brush etc.) So we decided to take a little drive to find it. This was not hard as it was just right on the side of the road, and it seemed as though the whole town of Rosamond had decided to do that very same thing! At this very moment, we realized that we had officially inducted ourselves into the very nature of hicksville we were laughing about. oops. It was rather hilarious to be one of the many cars driving to the edge of Rosamond, and then all turning around before entering Edwards Air Force Base territory. All for a brush fire that was probably put out in about 10 minutes. Guess much doesn't happen in Rosamond if thats all it takes to get this whole town out to see something :)

The Blood Song

I came across this video on another blog called girl talk which i check periodically. Every friday they post "friday funnies" and I saw this one from last week. At the very end of the song, the little girl says something really funny... so watch all the way to the end :) Enjoy!

There's a Snake in my Boots

On May 18th, 2009 at approximately 7:30 I experienced my first snake sighting in Rosamond. We were driving down the street to our new house to work on taking off some more of the wall paper when all of the sudden I saw something in the road. I continued driving and as I realized what I saw, I slammed on the breaks, threw the car into reverse and screamed at Nathan "There's a snake in the road back there!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He said... "So...?" I was freaking out... and even though it was just a garden snake, I really feel my response was appropriate. I honestly hoped I would never see a snake... but who am I kidding?? I live in the desert.

I promptly told Nathan that if I ever saw a snake in or near our house, I'd pack my bags and leave this wretched place. Snakes are of the devil (he was a snake himself!) and I will not stay if I ever have such an encounter again.

Homework

I received this e-mail from my sister-in-law, April. She is the queen of funny forwards, and I really appreciate that she only sends on the genuinely funny ones!!!
This one was entitled "Always check your children's homework before they go to school." Enjoy!!
(It's not like it first appears... I promise!!)
(Here's the reply the teacher received the following day)

Dear Mrs. Jones, I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer. I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot. From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Smith

A Little Holiday Cheer

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.
Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.
Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.
Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.
The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Monopoly

I'm so behind on my posting. Life just seems so unrelenting right now. Let's see... Thanksgiving break was nice although it went by too fast. Before I knew it, I was back in my 1st grade class room dreading the next 3 weeks. But, I am almost over the halfway point, and am looking forward very much to Christmas Break.

Thanksgiving Day was so relaxing. Nathan and I spent the day with his Mom and Step Dad. The food was great, and the weather was so nice. It was great to just relax. As Nathan and I were at our apartment just hanging out after being with family, we decided to play a game. Its usually just the 2 of us, so we try to figure out some way to play our board games with just 2. For quite some time now, Nathan has wanted to play Monopoly. My last experience in Monopoly was MANY years ago with my family. My brother Nathan made the game drag on forever and ever and ever. Finally, we were all so fed up with it that I think we just stopped playing. I haven't played since then... but Nathan my husband has been wanting to play. So I finally gave in and told him I'd play. Bad idea :) The game lasted about 2 1/2 hours (at least). I don't know how you make Monopoly last that long with only 2 people but where there is a will... there is a way. To make a long drawn out story short, I finally said "NO MORE!" when I had to mortgage all my houses, and properties; the bank didn't have enough money to pay me for those things; and I didn't have enough money to pay Nathan for his multi-million dollar hotels on practically all his properties. He had nearly every last dollar that the game has. It was the most unfun game of monopoly i've ever played. So I'm very unthankful for monopoly, but I am very thankful for my husband. :)

What are you Thankful for?

I know I'm really behind on my posting. I've been teaching 5 days a week and the class causes me to be exhausted by the time we are done. That plus not having internet at our house anymore equals no posting. But, here is a brief funny story.
Friday was my last day with this 1st grade class before thanksgiving break. They have this whole upcoming week off (PTL!!!). So, all week we have been making little pictures that say "I'm thankful for" then the kids fill in the blank and draw a picture. So, on Friday we put all the pictures from the week together to make little books for each child to take home for thanksgiving. One of my little boys in the class brought his book up for me to read. So, I'm reading what he is thankful for, and I come across the funniest page. He had drawn a picture of a car and colored it very nice :) Then he proceeded to write, "I am thankful for my pinp car" I don't have any idea why a 1st grader knows what a "pimp car" is, but he did and although he didn't quite have the spelling it was still hilarious! Happy Thanksgiving :)

Governmentium

A major research institution (MRI) has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest chemical element yet known to science. The new element has been tentatively named Governmentium. Governmentium has 1 neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 224 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called mo-rons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called pe-ons. Since governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected as it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of governmentium causes one reaction to take over four days to complete when it would normally take less than a second. Governmentium has a normal half-life of three years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause some morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientists to speculate that governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as Critical Morass.
