Consequences of My Name
I really love substitute teaching. Since I've been married and had my name changed to something weird like "Fogde" most of my funny stories about subbing come about as a result of the kids trying to say my name. They are hilarious! Last week, I subbed in a 2nd grade class (I will be in the same class tomorrow!!) where one of the kids called me "Mrs. Frogdie" I know he's only in 2nd grade, but I'm sure he could tell there was no R in my name. My other favorite was subbing in the Kindergarten class :) I didn't even try to have them say or remember my name. These kids are still learning their letters... ain't no way they will remember how to say my name. I wrote "Mrs. F" on the whiteboard and told them to call me Mrs. F. Even that was a little much as I was called everything from Mrs. A to Mrs. Z... no kidding!! I suppose we'll see if any of the kids tomorrow remember my name, and if they remember how to say it. I don't have high hopes or expectations.

Blessings
Today I had the opportunity to work in our church office all day. I normally volunteer on Wednesday mornings, but since my Wednesday afternoon was free, I was here all day. The opportunity to give of my time and gifts in the office at church is such a blessing to me!! I am reminded over and over again of how good the Lord is to have put us in this church, and how thankful I am for the church. God's plans are so much better than our own are, and I am so thankful for His sovereignty in our lives! I work with Jo at the office and she is just the most wonderful friend. She is such an encouragement, and such a crack up! We laugh all day and it is such a joy to be able to serve her by helping her in the office. I love love love it!! Praise God for His Love and His Goodness...

House Keys Anyone?
Saturday Morning... sleeping in, taking it easy, not too much to do. Couldn't be any better! I had just gotten out of the shower, put my contacts in, threw on some jeans and a cami and Nathan says "Hey, I need to go to the post office, want to come with me?" So, off we go to the post office. Even though it is only about a 2 minute drive away, this was the absolute longest post office trip ever! Just as we got back to our house, Nathan realized he had not grabbed his house keys, and I didn't have anything with me. We had taken his dads car, so that is why we didn't have keys to our house with us. We also didn't have our cell phones. We just looked at our house for minute while our brains were running a million miles per hour! Nathan decided to pop off a screen and see if we could get any of our windows open: fail. We went to our neighbors house hoping she might have the number for our landlord but she wasn't home: fail. We decided to go to someone's house from church in hopes of using their computer to try and look up our landlords phone number so we went to our dear friends the Kenngotts home. They were not there: fail. (meanwhile, I am burning up in this jacket that was in Nathan's dads car because I only had a little cami on and we were going around to houses of people from church :)). Next we headed to the youth pastors home: success! He graciously let us come in and use their computer to look up the phone number. While our efforts were good and we should get an A for them, we still failed because his number was no where to be found online. Next we decided we would just drive down to our landlords house (about 20 minutes away) and hope and pray that they were home. Thankfully they were, so we finally were able to get back into our house, and our trip to the post office only took about an hour and a half. :) Note to all readers: make sure you always take your house keys with you anywhere you go no matter whose car you go in :)
Subbing
I finally got a call to sub this past week... Praise the Lord!! I've been waiting to be called to work, and it finally happened!! I subbed twice this past week and had a great time both days. On Thursday, I was a 1st grade teacher... so fun! For those of you who know my last name, you probably know that it is a challenge to figure out how to pronounce it from the spelling. Try that with 1st graders!! So, I wrote my name on the board and had them say it after me twice. I hoped that would help them remember it, but alas by the end of the day I was being called "Mrs. Fog." So CUTE!! My favorite incident from the day was when one of the little girls game up to my, tapped my arm, and said in a very downcast voice "Mrs. Fog... (pointing to another girl) that girl isn't my friend anymore." I told her I was sorry and couldn't help but laugh on the inside. This actually happened twice with two different girls. Of course they were all still friends as just moments later they were talking and laughing again. Remember the days when you said you weren't friends with someone anymore and 2 minutes later you were best friends? Love it!

Part of the World!!
Today we got Direct TV :) We haven't had any TV since we've been married, which has been fine, but I feel like we've been a little out of the loop on whats going on in the world. It will be nice to have--just in time for the Olympics and then just in time for football season and other favorites.

So April, now you may check our blog as often as you'd like :) I will probably only update on the interesting things that happen in life...though with starting substitute teaching again, there could be updates often :)
